The latest monthly DWP Universal Credit Statistics have now been published and can be accessed online at universal-credit-statistics
The statistics show:
- there were 7.5 million people on Universal Credit in January 2025
76.2% of people on Universal Credit in October 2024 were from the white ethnic group. All other high-level ethnic groups combined totalled 23.7% of Universal Credit claimants in January 2025 - the proportion of people in the ‘no work requirements’ conditionality regime (42%) continues to increase
- there were, on average, 47,000 claims and 39,000 starts per week in January 2025
- there were 177,000 households receiving the Universal Credit childcare element in November 2024
- there were approximately 2.8 million UC households (45% of all UC households) that had one or more deductions taken from their UC entitlement in November 2024
