Using the International Passenger Survey for Tourism Statistics

Peter Gordon
Peter Gordon • 4 February 2025

Our next seminar will look at the tourism statistics available from the International Passenger Survey (IPS).  It will cover:

  • The historical collection of IPS data, the key uses and main users.
  • The Travel and Tourism Reform Project: what it is, why it came about and what the project means for data users.
  • The main improvements to the IPS since July 2024 because of the project; improvements in both data collection and data processing.
  • The main operational changes since July 2024 for the field community.
  • What the first publication of new data (due to be published in early 2025) tells us about International Travel and Tourism.

Our speaker is Claudia Jenkins, from the Office of National Statistics.

This seminar will be held online at 16:00 on Thursday 6th February.
